CA Div 2 Champions!

It's been a crazy few weeks!  We have been on the go with Dawson's football and Landon's middle school basketball games.  It's been busy, but we love it!

Dawson's Div 2 CA Football Team won the Championship Game last week!  They were excited, but I think the parents may have been more excited than they were.  They worked hard all season and I'm happy for them.  It was a great group of boys and I'm very excited that Dawson was a part of it and got to know his team mates better. They will be his classmates next year at CA!  God has blessed us and we are so thankful to Him that we are able to be a part of Columbia Academy and the Christian environment for our boys.

Landon's 1st Year of Middle School Basketball

Landon is playing Middle School Basketball at Columbia Academy this year.  It's been a great experience for him and we are so proud of him for playing and being a part of the team!  They are doing awesome so far.  They are undefeated and just won a tournament in Cornersville, TN.
Way to go Bulldogs and Landon #5!

CA vs. Cascade

Another great game for Columbia Academy, Division 2!

Dawson got to run an offensive play for the first time and he ran the ball for 7 yards!  Yeah!  He is still starting as free safety on defense.  Two more big games until the playoff game.

Good luck Bulldogs and especially our #3!

Gatlinburg 2010

Fall Break 2010 - We had a wonderful family get-a-way in Gatlinburg.  We stayed in a cabin in the mountains, ate good food, took a hike, went to Cades Cove, but most of all, spent time together!

Dawson's Football Moments

Dawson Carter #3.....He ROCKS!

Dawson had two great football games the past two weekends!

Columbia Academy vs. Cornersville, he made an interception that resulted in a touchdown for CA on the very next play!

In the game against Liberty, he made a great tackle and stopped Liberty from scoring a touchdown!

Dawson's 1st Football Game - Columbia Academy Bulldogs

Final Score
Saturday, August 28 was Dawson's 1st football game.  It was an awesome day!  He got to play a few series in the game and they put him in for the last series of the game.  The score was CA 18, Community 12.  Community had the opportunity to score at the goal line with 2.5 seconds left in the game.  Dawson was put in at free safety.  Dawson watched the ball and zoned in on the runner.  Dawson was the first to him at the goal line and stopped the runner!  A fellow teamate helped bring down the runner and the game was over with a CA victory!!!  Awesome Teamwork! We are so proud of our #3, Dawson Carter!  Go CA Dawgs!

Check out the videos of the Goal Line Stand from two views.  Watch for #3!

Such a Blessing!

Landon Is a Teenager!

It doesn't seem possible that 13 years ago, I woke up at midnight and told Scott I thought it was time.  It was 3 1/2 weeks before my due date, but Landon was anxious to come into the world and meet us.  I'm glad he did because we were anxiously awaiting ourselves to meet him and become parents for the 1st time!  One of the most exciting 12 hours of our lives was waiting to finally to see his precious face.  And that it was....precious and perfect.  We were blessed with our 1st child 13 years ago and today we see a teenager....a wonderful and handsome young man!

God blessed us 3 1/2 years later with our 2nd wonderful child, Dawson.  Our family is complete and life is wonderful!

Happy 13th Birthday Landon Chase Carter!

Landon Serves

Landon read his 1st scripture during worship service this morning and served at the table for the Lord's supper for the 1st time. What a wonderful thing for parents to see in their child.  We are so blessed and are so proud to watch Landon grow into a young man. God is good and so is life!!
Our worship service is recorded and our wonderful friend that sits behind us 'somehow' got a picture of him :-)  We will now be able to remember this moment forever!  Watch and listen to the video.

Dawson's 1st Football Practice

Dawson is playing football for Columbia Academy the first time this year!  He is one excited and happy little boy!  We are so excited for him and he just can't wait to get on the field and start playing.  His first practice was Thursday night.  He's so proud of his gear...he had to try it on!  Wish us luck!  :-)

Go Dawgs!  Go Dawson!!!

Panama City Beach, FL 2010

We had a wonderful family vacation in Panama City Beach, FL this year.  We got to spend 10 wonderful days together as a family and enjoyed 'us' time and LOVED every minute of it!  God has truly blessed us and we are so thankful for the wonderful blessings that we continue to enjoy each and every day.

We stayed at The Majestic Tower I on Front Beach Road.  It was one of the nicest condos that we have rented.  We sat on the beach a few nights, we hunted sand crabs (and set a Carter record of catching 42 of them one night!) and we watched fireworks from our 10th floor balcony, overlooking the ocean on July 4th!

This year was the year of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.  We were fortunate to not see any signs of oil, other than workers walking around keeping an eye on things.
The ocean was beautiful.

We didn't want our family time to end, but we were glad to be
Home Sweet Home once again.

Vacation Bible School 2010

Scribner's Mill had another wonderful VBS this year!  The theme was "Armor of God".  Everyone did a great job getting prepared for VBS and we appreciate everyone that attended that helped make this year's VBS a huge success.  We set a Scribner's Mill record for attendance on the last night!

Another 5K for Charity

Dawson and Scott ran another 5K today, 5 days after their last. This one was in Waynesboro, TN. It was in memory of Ryleigh Stegall, a 10 year old girl who died of Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in September 2007. She was diagnosed when she was 3 1/2 years old. We thank God everyday that we have two healthy boys.

Dawson and Scott both got trophies! Dawson got 2nd in his age group and Scott got 3rd in his age group. In the picture of them running beside each other, Scott had finished and went back to run the last part of the race with Dawson. I love that picture. Two of the same imagines running side by side.

This was suppose to be a family run, but Landon just got home from church camp the night before and he was exhausted! He needed some rest and 5:30 AM came really early! Our entry fee was considered a donation for a great cause.

We dropped Landon off at Maury Christian Church camp Sunday. He will be be there until Friday. We missed him this Memorial Day and will miss him all week!! Can't wait to pick him up Friday.

5K
Scott, Dawson and I went to Huntsville, AL for the Cotton Row 5K. Scott and Dawson ran the 5K and they both did great. There were 1,975 runners and Scott took 85th place and Dawson took 746th. Maybe I'll join in next year. That's just a lot of runners!

Landon Graduates 6th Grade

Landon graduated 6th Grade at Columbia Academy last night. He received the Language/Arts award in his homeroom class and he got perfect attendance this year! I cannot believe he'll be a 7th grader next year.

Landon and Dawson are growing up so fast. "I'm gonna miss this."
